Elder Law Basics:  How to Guide Families In Crisis with Cheryl Jones, PK Law

pk-law.jpgProgram Summary:  Families facing a loved one entering a nursing facility are often in crisis and don’t know where to turn to get the answers they need about managing their loved one’s medical or financial affairs. 
This session will provide the attendees with a basic understanding of key Maryland Medical Assistance provisions.   Upon completion of the course, the attendees will have a basic understanding of best practices for paying for a nursing facility, protecting the family home and other assets for a spouse, the Medicaid 5-year look-back provision, and how to qualify for Medicaid – on the first attempt.  

CEU Credits:  1 hour

Recommended Attendees:  This course is recommended for social workers who provide guidance to families facing a loved one entering a nursing facility.
